How the process fits the part

The process creates an outline and internal openings without a dedicated cutting die for every shape. Material, thickness and contour complexity influence the route. The cut edge is not automatically equivalent to a machined locating surface. Features used to position bearings or close-fitting components may need a separate finishing operation.

Design decisions before manufacture

Review small features, narrow webs and the relationship between holes and later bends. Identify the side that will be visible and whether edge condition matters for assembly or cleaning. If a plate becomes part of a welded structure, discuss locating tabs and allowance without making the drawing depend on an unreviewed cutting assumption.

Inspect the finished result

Inspect contour dimensions, critical hole locations and the agreed edge condition. For parts that will be bent, verify the flat blank together with the formed part. An acceptable flat outline alone does not establish the assembled fit. Define whether deburring and any subsequent surface treatment belong to the quoted scope.

What to send for a quotation

Provide material grade, sheet thickness, quantity, finished dimensions and the downstream operations. Mark which features need machining rather than only cutting. Include visible-surface and finishing requirements. QDM can help coordinate a cutting and fabrication package as part of a custom machine or device build.
