This machine study brings two reel positions together with a central hose-handling mechanism and operator panel. It provides a starting point for discussing controlled feeding, length preparation and reel-to-reel handling. The required cutting principle and material path are selected for the actual hose.
Define the hose construction, reel dimensions, tension needs and feed path.
Develop supports, guides and the cutting or processing mechanism around the material.
Agree controls, measurement, finished-length handling and protective measures.
Materials, dimensions, operating range, output, controls and delivery scope are confirmed in the project proposal.

A hose cutting and reel-handling machine brings feed, length preparation and collection into one mechanical arrangement. Hose cutting equipment is selected for the hose construction and cut requirement. QDM’s concept also includes reel handling, so the brief needs to describe both the material being cut and how it is supplied or collected.
Reinforcement, outside diameter, wall thickness and flexibility affect the feed and cutting choices. A controlled feed should avoid distorting the hose when length is measured. Reel dimensions, incoming tension and the desired coil form influence supports and guides. Winding, coiling and simply supporting a reel are distinct functions to identify in the scope.
A first trial should review representative hose through feeding, measuring, cutting and the agreed collection operation. Define the acceptable end condition and length tolerance, including how each is measured. Access to a cutting tool and any dust or debris handling need to follow the selected process. The final layout and operating range are developed for the specified hose, not all hose types.
The table identifies the reference arrangement and the values to agree for your application.
| Parameter | Configuration / value | Confirm before manufacture |
|---|---|---|
| Hose construction | Client-specific material and reinforcement | Provide datasheet or sample |
| Diameter range | Defined in mm | Review feed and cutting support |
| Cut length | Application-specific in mm | Agree tolerance and measurement |
| Cutting process | Selected for the hose | Define acceptable end condition |
| Reel envelope | Configured in mm and kg | Provide supply and collection details |
| Feed and tension | Scoped for the material | Review stretch and alignment |
| Collection operation | Reel handling or coiling as agreed | Define output form and cycle |

QDM supplies equipment with a standard one-year machine warranty, starting from commissioning.
Purchased components are covered under the relevant manufacturer’s warranty terms. Two-year component coverage applies where provided by the manufacturer; coverage and start dates follow those terms.
Extended warranty and maintenance agreements can be arranged for the project. Coverage, duration, service responsibilities and commercial terms are agreed in the contract.
The quotation and contract define the equipment covered, the applicable warranty terms and the agreed service arrangements.
