Use the released configuration
Confirm components, material grades, drawings and relevant manufacturing instructions before repeating the build. Record any difference from the reviewed prototype. A supply-driven substitution can affect more than availability, so define who reviews its effect on interfaces, function and inspection before it is incorporated.
Review variation and assembly experience
Track important fit and assembly observations across the agreed units. Identify adjustment work, supplier issues and deviations that may need an engineering change. The purpose is to learn whether the selected manufacturing arrangement supports the required result; a small build should not be described as proof of unrestricted production capacity.
Agree acceptance and delivery responsibilities
Identify the final checks, records and customer review method. Remote or on-site acceptance can be scoped, with overseas installation and commissioning where agreed. Packaging, transport interfaces and destination information belong in the quotation. Responsibilities and additional expenses should be explicit before the equipment is prepared for delivery.
Hand over the contracted information
Define operating information, maintenance arrangements, spare-parts scope and the drawings or records included in the contract. Extended warranty and maintenance can be agreed separately. QDM coordinates the contracted engineering and manufacturing package; revisions, drawing rights and later production orders remain project-specific commercial matters.
What to define for the project.
| Decision | What to define | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|
| Build | Quantity and released configuration | Defines the pilot package |
| Changes | Reviewed supplier or design deviations | Protects the accepted scope |
| Checks | Unit and assembly evidence | Shows the supplied condition |
| Delivery | Destination and commissioning scope | Assigns responsibilities |
| Handover | Documents, support and permitted use | Completes the agreed package |
These notes support an initial engineering discussion. Material grades, manufacturing routes, dimensions and acceptance criteria are selected for the actual application and confirmed in the project specification.
